We are delighted to shout out to the world that The Blue Orchid are now officially Hoylake residents! After humble beginnings, my husband and I worked around the clock as a freelance florist and trusted side kick, from home, whilst also juggling family life and 6 kids (I know, we're mad right!?). Well apparently not mad enough - we had a seventh a year later!
We have had fantastic support from friends and family, not least my own mum who is also our in house origamist who creates stunning paper flowers to make a real 'keepsake' unique bridal bouquet which can be made from poetry, music sheets, comic strips, you name it, even recycled paper ensuring we always do our bit in support of 'green' weddings.
In what seems like no time at all, we became recognised as an exclusive weddings and events florist working across Wirral, Merseyside, Cheshire, Chester and North Wales. Business has blossomed over this whirlwind 2 years and we have been privileged to work with some fantastic clients and beautiful venues. Never did we realise how quickly things would progress, and now we find ourselves with a beautiful boutique at 63 Market Street, Hoylake, working closely with some of the best suppliers in the wedding industry, with the ability to inject individuality and beauty into all areas of your big day!
We are honoured to work with such a fantastic team, including Bella's Cake Pantry, James Stratford Photography, Elegant Twist Venue Dressers and Pink Sherbet Stationery, and Anne Murphy-Origami flower designer, all of whom have work on display in our boutique to be seen by all, and all are welcome to come along for a cuppa!
At the Blue Orchid, we recognise the importance of gratitude and so, where possible, we explore ways in which we can give back; as a florist, we are working with a perishable product and therefore our stock is sourced from local flower growers as often as possible, otherwise importing fair trade stock; in the conditioning process of which, waste foliage is composted and plastics recycled. We have also supported numerous worthwhile charities in various ways and will continue to do so.
The open-armed welcome we've received from Hoylake residents and businesses alike has been wonderful, many of whom came along to our recent open evening on the 10th April. We had a fantastic time meeting everyone and I think it's fair to say everybody enjoyed the exquisite canapés provided by Clark's Catering, not to mention delectable delights of Bella's cake pantry. The atmosphere was electric and all who attended were stunned by the sleight of hand of local magic man, Mike Jones. If you missed it, you missed out, but don't worry, we'll be holding regular showcase evenings, so be sure to follow us on social media for future events!
In summary, we'd like to say a humongous thank you to all we have worked with over the last two years... to the day I might add .... It has been an amazing journey and to be where we are now is honestly, a dream come true! Like I say, if you can dream it, you can do it; I can fly in most of my dreams, 'can't wait for that to happen
