We have such an amazing team of suppliers here at The Blue Orchid, covering cakes, stationery, venue dressing, Photography and of course flowers both fresh and origami.
As part of our Welcome to Sandy and Dave from Pixsmiths who recently joined us here in Hoylake we decided to do a collaborative photo shoot to show how a simple bit of inspiration can be brought together by a group of suppliers who work closely together.
It all started with Cheryl Carden of Pink Sherbet Designs, she had her "Ava Collection" invitation in coral with dainty flowers on it. We all Loved it and set about creating our own visions of this idea to show how something as little as your stationery can have a big impact and be tied in with all the elements of your wedding day.
So we had our inspiration and now we all needed to work with that. Cheryl expanded on the invitation she had provided for the inspiration to include everything you would need for your big day, from the wedding breakfast menu to a fantastic table plan and everything in between.
Sue from Bella's Cake Pantry created a beautiful cake keeping to the theme in colour and made some amazing flowers that replicated the flowers from the stationery perfectly.
Katey our resident floral genius ( no bias there at all ) worked with the coral colour scheme by using “Miss Piggy” roses , lisianthus, bouvadia, coral santini and wax flower to match the little daisy flower shapes from the stationery and cake. We also framed Cheryls table plan in fresh flowers which looks amazing. Anne our origamist made a flower girl circlet and small posy of origami flowers which were modeled by Kateys daughter.
Our Venue dresser Melanie from Elegant Twist dressed table and chairs in Ivory and Coral sashes and added satin ribbon bows to the napkins which tied in with the binding on the bridal bouquet, edging on the cake and detailing on the stationery.
We had chosen 30 James Street – Home of the Titanic as the venue for our shoot, all that was left was to let Dave from Pixsmiths loose with his camera and he captured some amazing shots and really showed off how using a group of suppliers who work together regularly can really make your wedding look stunning by working together to a single theme and giving you that big day wow factor. We even had this photo shoot featured in the popular wedding blog Brides up North. For all the pictures from the shot have a look at the gallery at the bottom.
You can come and see more examples of all of our work at our little boutique in Hoylake.
