Ultimate Beauty Comes to Blue Orchid

We are very pleased to announce the arrival of Emma White and Ulitmate Beauty to Blue Orchid. Emma will be in the boutique 2 days (Tuesday and Saturday) for all your beauty needs.

Here is a little message from Emma.

Growing up, I had always been amazed by the beauty world, I loved to sit and paint my nails and do my make up and anyone else who would let me! So nobody was surprised when I began training almost 6 years ago. It is my passion, I'm no artist on paper, but given a clean nail, I love to create and more importantly I love to see a clients reaction when I am finished. I took the leap to self employment almost 3 years ago, I wanted to create something that was my own and with my name on it. I quickly became accustomed to the wedding industry and realised how much I enjoyed pampering brides and being part of their special day. I am always looking at new treatments and how I can improve my services, I have added to my service list over the years so I can offer varied treatments. This year, I am in the process of adding more treatments to my list, make up and volume lashes, great for brides and so enjoyable for me to do. Having a part time base was my next step, alongside continuing with mobile work. So I am very excited to be a part of 'The Blue Orchid' team and for the future and look forward to meeting new clients soon. It is such a joy for me to go to work, I really do love my job that much!

Our long awaited BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!

Well the time has finally come to share our wonderful news!

This last few months we've been very busy behind the scenes with our new venture. It's been tough having to contain all this excitement!
It is with unimaginable pride and immeasurable happiness that we can finally announce we are the ecstatic new owners of Earth Flowers Ltd :D :D
We have to offer great thanks to former proprietor Anne Good for raising this beautiful business and we are very lucky to continue this legacy with Earth's own fabulous florists Linda Cleary and Danielle Storton. Between the three of us, we have  45 years floristry experience, all of which is dedicated to the wonderful clients, both old and new of Earth. We shall be continuing to nurture this beautiful florist which has been established since 1997 and we all wish Anne the happiest of retirements and hope she greatly enjoys some very well earned rest.
Many years ago when I began my floristry journey, I quickly became aware of Anne Good and Earth along with it's wonderful reputation and the standard of work and quality of flowers quickly became my aspiration. When I saw this opportunity was up for grabs, I moved forward, excited by the possibilities. After many months of working hard, I officially became the new owner on the 20th January.
It has been fifteen years since I started floristry and four years since I opened my own business, Blue Orchid a wedding boutique which sits proudly on Market Street in Hoylake. Blue Orchid is home to some of Merseyside's most sought after wedding suppliers -Cheryl Carden of  Pink Sherbet Stationery Designs, Sandy and Dave Smith of PixSmith's Photography, Sue Gates of Bella's cake Pantry, Stephanie and Jennifer of The Wirral Wedding House, Anne Murphy Origami specialist and of course ourselves :) it is with the wonderful support and belief of these colleagues who have quickly become friends and of course all of my wonderful family that we have had the courage to take this leap.
I am overwhelmed with the love and support of all of Earth's customers too, many of whom I've been lucky enough to meet over this past week. Huge gratitude goes Linda and Danielle who have welcomed me to Earth with open arms and introduced me to all of the loyal customers and neighbours in Heswall.  I look forward to working many more years alongside these girls continuing to focus all our efforts on providing the most beautiful flowers of the best quality to lots of happy customers.
Lots of love
Team Earth AND Blue Orchid :)

Elegance and lace at Rowton Hall

Well, even though we have been crazy busy we couldn’t resist working with our fab suppliers for another amazing photo shoot! We did it a bit differently this time, choosing the venue first and letting it's decor and character inspire the look/theme. We went for a very neutral look, which if you've been to Rowton Hall Hotel and Spa - you will know suits venue perfectly!

We've been lucky enough to have worked on several weddings at Rowton Hall this year. This stunning Cheshire venue is owned and run by Rebecca and Gordon Wigginton, with their daughter Charlotte at the helm as the Wedding Coordinator, And their son Laurence who is the food and beverage manager. Purchased by the family back in 1998 Rowton Hall has been transformed it into one of the top wedding venues in the area.

Our model for the day was Caroline, a previous real Pixsmiths bride who now lives overseas. Caroline was visiting the UK just in time and gladly accepted our invitation to model for our shoot. She looked exquiste in the fitted bridal gown and delicate lace edged veil supplied by Stephanie and Jennifer of The Wirral Wedding House, New Brighton.

Cheryl of Pink Sherbet Stationery created invitations, place cards, menus, table numbers and a large A1 size seating plan, even adding little tags to Sue’s delightful cake pops! The stationery incorporated a layered lace effect, a combination of real lace and printed lace with luxurious over-sized satin ribbon bows and opulent hand-finishings, including sparkles, but also simple pearls showing the versatility of the designs. The colours were neutrals to suit the theme with different shades of ivory, champagne and golds running through to give depth.

The cupcakes from Sue of Bella’s Cake Pantry with their delicate lace edging looked almost too good to eat, and the wedding cake was a real triumph - just look at the attention to detail! The things Sue can achieve with her icing work never ceases to amaze us!! The cake pops and heart shaped biscuits with matching ruffle and lace icing were totally unique and served as tasty wedding favours.

Our very own wonder woman Katey, surpassed herself with the gorgeous bridal bouquet and huge table centre pieces using cream and white stock, astilbe, faith, quicksand, avalanche and sweet avalanche roses. All of these pretty blooms were brought together with ribbons, lace and diamante touches particularly on the stems of the hand-tied bridal bouquet, which finished it off beautifully.

Katey and Anne dressed the chairs with vintage pink waterfall hoods enhanced by lace overlays and origami flower details over ivory Lycra covers. The venue dressing complemented the room perfectly! And just look at the ribbon and origami flower skirt to decorate the cake table - how clever is Anne to think of that?! Anne also crafted wands with ribbons, bells and lace - every flower girl princess would adore these!

Last but by no means least Dave and Sandy of Pixsmiths Creative Photography photographed all of our work and truly captured the essence of the theme, and the magnificence of Rowton Hall. They are a very talented duo with a real eye for detail. We're over-the-moon with the photographs from this shoot, there's a whole gallery of stunning shots to browse!

A big thank you to Rebecca, Gordon, Laurence and Charlotte of Rowton Hall Hotel and Spa for opening up their beautiful venue for us. We hope you love these images as much as we enjoyed creating and capturing them.

If you like the look of what we've done here and would like to see more of The Blue Orchid suppliers and their work you can pop into our little wedding boutique in Hoylake - 63 Market St, Hoylake, Wirral CH47 2BQ.

Our Beautiful November Open Day

Our Beautiful November Wedding Open Day at The Wirral Wedding House

Our most recent open day event at The Wirral Wedding House was a wonderful day had by all! It was another excellent opportunity for our fabulous group of Wirral based wedding suppliers to collaborate, and set the scene for a lovely mini-inspiration photo shoot! The fizz, ice cream and cake were flowing in abundance and the atmosphere buzzing with everything wedding! :)

There were new products on display including a phenomenal cake and flower centrepiece, which is a collaborative effort from our very own Katey at The Blue Orchid and Sue of Bella's Cake Pantry. We're delighted to say this is still on display at The Wirral Wedding House so if you missed our open day and would like to take a look, be sure to venture on down there and check out their dresses whilst you're at it (they are stunning)!

Our florist Katey totally did us proud with stunning fresh and artificial flower centrepieces, which went perfectly with table stationery created by our resident stationery expert Cheryl of Pink Sherbet. Katey really has a way with flowers and colours, and can answer the most creative of briefs. Her knowledge of flowers is outstanding and she has a habit of making every bride feel like her only bride, that's how much dedication she pours into each wedding!

Also on display was origami flower framed seating plan from Anne of The Blue Orchid and Cheryl of Pink Sherbet Stationery and wow, what a piece it is!!? Cheryl and Anne were delighted to display this new stationery product as it is totally unique and something they've never done before! The outcome was loved by all! The level of skill involved in origami flowers will ever cease to amaze us and Anne has mastered it perfectly. Finished with gorgeous satin flower buds and sparkly embellishments this would really turn heads on the entrance to any wedding reception!!

Cheryl had a selection of new wedding stationery on display with satin ribbon and sparkles galore, her work is on display permanently at The Wirral Wedding House and The Blue Orchid Wedding Boutique, so if you like what you see here go check out the quality of her work in person! You will not be disappointed. Cheryl's family run stationery business supplies everything from save the dates and invitations through to order of service and everything needed to dress your table on your big day! All matching and completely personalised. Our paper gurus Anne and Cheryl are looking to collaborate more in the future so watch this space for new origami/stationery masterpieces very soon!

Sandy and Dave of Pixsmiths were excited to share their new luxury wedding albums, my goodness they looked the part and are sure to be very popular for 2016-2017 weddings! We particularly loved their Tiffany Blue leather option, which it totally in-line with their top quality photography - a match made in heaven! It was also great seeing their fabulous wall art gracing the walls of The Wirral Wedding House, each and everyone showing a bride wearing a Wirral Wedding House gown!

Everyone was delighted to sample Bella's Cake Pantry cake! What a taste sensation?! Not only do Sue's cakes look amazing, but they taste delicious too. Sue's attention to detail is second-to-none and her relaxed, bubbly personality makes choosing/designing your wedding cake an absolute pleasure!

It was lovely to see Ann from Mercer Travel who was on hand to give couples top advice on their hen/stag weekends and of course the all important honeymoon ideas! We could not think of a more friendly person to deal with when planning these very important details!

Sue from Fellici's was spoiling everyone with an abundant supply of her delicious ice creams and sorbets, all served from her swanky new and highly-polished ice cream trike, which by the way is SUPER impressive! It totally looks the part and would add a touch of class to any wedding - inside or out! We loved having Sue there!

Louise and Jenna from The Hair and Beauty Lounge (based at The Wirral Wedding House) were doing hair and make up demonstrations, showing everyone just how much of a difference they can make to a Bride on her special day. Emphasising the importance of hiring professionals who know exactly how to compliment you with the best make-up products and hairstyles! These girls really know their stuff and are great fun to be around too! If you're yet to book your wedding hair and make up we would highly recommend paying The Wirral Wedding House a visit, as the facilities at The Hair and Beauty Lounge are beautiful and so professional!

Our very own magician Mike bowled everyone over with his amazing magic tricks - this guy is a natural! We're really happy to have him on board as part of The Blue Orchid Wedding Boutique team. He commands an audience's attention and really knows how to get wedding guests to participate, creating a great atmosphere and event everyone will remember!

Last but by no means least our hosts, The Wirral Wedding House, WOW WOW WOW… this bridal shop is like no other - it really is a VIP experience! From the minute they walk in a bride feels like a princess, especially with the gorgeous family duo Gill and Stephanie there to greet her. The building has been refurbished to the highest standard and developed into the most perfect environment to view wedding dresses, making every bride feel like the perfect princess when selecting her gown! Their extensive rail of very carefully selected beautiful gowns, the plush sofa for your mum/aunts/bridesmaids/friends to sit on whilst waiting for you to emerge from the large luxury dressing room area to walk down the catwalk are just some of the fine details that make this place so amazing! All accompanied by a glass of fizz and you can even view bridesmaid dresses too! Every North West bride should pay a visit to this place when searching for her dress! We highly highly recommend.

Ultimately all the suppliers mentioned above are at the top of their game, they’re wonderful people, truly friendly and hugely passionate about making weddings amazing! We at The Blue Orchid Wedding Boutique are delighted to be partnered up with these delightful wedding experts and look forward to working with them on many many more weddings in the future!

We are proud to show off another inspiration shoot. We started this one with the wonderful Stationery of Cheryl Carden from Pink Sherbet Designs Ltd. Her Enchanted collection evokes a lot of spring time themes and is such a pretty collection that it allowed all of the team a distinct theme with which to work around.

Sue from Bella's Cake Pantry created the most amazing cake a simple 2 tier cake but with stunning floral detail giving it a very garden like look much the same as the stationery.

Our very own Katey from The Blue Orchid continued the delicate garden theme with her use of fanx, veronica, craspidia, daisies, garden foliages, bear grass. Finished with pink ribbon to match the stationery and origami flowers to suit making a spectacular bouquet and centerpiece.

We decided for this shoot that we would want live models and an unusual setting. It was a very easy decision to speak to Jennifer and Stephanie at The Wirral Wedding House who loved the theme and so we were able to have a bride and bridesmaid dresses along with models. This in turn also allowed Katey to provide a delicate head circlet and wrist corsage for the bridesmaid.

We went to Royden Park on the Wirral for the shoot itself and with the surrounding garden flowers all cared for by the Royden Park Project who have done a fantastic job there and provide a great service to people with learning difficulties and or disabilities and give them meaningful and interesting work placed training.

Dave of Pixsmiths Creative Photography did such an amazing job bringing all our work together and capturing it in these beautiful images. The Full gallery of the shoot is at the bottom of the page.

We are super excited that this has been published in the fabulous new bridal magazine, Love our wedding. A great new magazine full of inspiration DIY ideas and real weddings.

Check out their website, register and get your free download of the magazine. The magazine is also widely distributed at wedding fayres across the UK.

We hope you like them as much as we enjoyed creating everything. And if you want to see any more examples of all our work you can pop into our little boutique in Hoylake.
